Senior Consultant - IT
The Senior Consultant is a seasoned professional services practitioner who is capable of end-to-end delivery of advisory-based technology projects based in a client service environment. Armed with consulting experience in a mid-market and/or enterprise space and technology experience the Senior Consultant must ensure client project delivery while managing deliverable quality, budget, and in many cases other team members.
A component of the Senior Consultant position is to contribute to the writing of research material. Up to 50% of the Senior Consultant’s role will include the responsibility for writing practical and tactical research material for a specific coverage area. The Senior Consultant may be asked to drive a part of the research agenda for their topic areas, and is responsible for creating points of view, analysis, and advice that help clients address their pressing business technology needs.
Major Responsibilities:
Delivery
- Project management.
- Deliverable creation and delivery (including client presentation).
- Budget and time management.
- Deliverable quality management.
Client Management
- Relationship management.
- Opportunity identification.
Primary & Secondary Research
- Identify need for qualitative and quantitative research.
- Participate in or lead in-depth research projects on a topic or theme resulting in a research deliverable plan that can include all of our research products.
- Synthesize research findings and insights into existing research stream.
Research Responsibilities
- Participate in agenda planning and accept coverage responsibility for certain areas of research.
- Conduct primary and secondary research as necessary to support research agenda. Identify appropriate sources and research methods (interviews, surveys, article search).
- Write clear, precise, and impact-oriented research notes and reports.
- Create conceptual models, including thought models, deterministic models, and expert models from a variety of data sources.
- Create thought-leading tools, frameworks, and methodologies.
- Support research production quotas and banks.
- Manage quality levels of all research outputs.
Other
- Consulting methodology development.
- Mentoring of junior consultants.
- Respond to client inquiry requests regarding research coverage.
- Leverage consulting client deliverables for research purposes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a delivery and project management role within a professional services space.
- Experience with large consultancy preferred.
- Strong professional network and proven track record in the industry.
- Strong facilitation skills and experience with managing change in an client environment.
- Experience with various technologies, and an understanding of the business impact of those technologies.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, ever-changing environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Professional Suite (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint).
- Willing and able to travel and work within Canada and the US (10-30%).

| Senior Research Analyst
The Senior Research Analyst is a senior-level position reporting to the Lead Research Analyst. Research Analyst play a key role in creating best practices research in one of three specific IT practice areas: Infrastructure, Data Center and Storage, or Applications.
You will primarily be responsible for interacting directly with Info-Tech clients to develop research using qualitative and quantitative methods. Your success will depend upon your ability to distill and conceptualize best practices from IT executives into insightful written reports. You will also be expected to share and interpret your insights through exchanges and presentations with other IT executives, as well as facilitating seminars and conferences.
Major Responsibilities:
- Interact with clients, establishing relationships with CIOs and IT Managers to understand their business and practices, and their current projects and technology challenges.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research, managing multiple projects through to writing and presenting the solutions that our clients require.
- Develop guiding product research and development agendas to address key client issues.
- Establish relationships with key product/marketing/sales leaders in key vendors.
- Provide guidance to clients in order to be able to make informed decisions on issues such as product trade-offs, purchases, technology directions, ROI/TCO and best practices.
- Create thought-leading tools, frameworks, and methodologies for specific practice areas.
- Write an ongoing stream of clear, concise, accurate, and well-organized research papers, as well as in-depth research reports.
- Create conceptual models from a variety of data sources.
- Design and analyze surveys to understand the needs, issues, and priorities of CIOs and IT Managers, and share this information with clients to guide decision making process.
- Work collaboratively with sales, consulting, and other analyst groups within the organization.
Qualifications:

- Working knowledge of multiple Information Technology subject areas required.

| Research Analyst (Future Opportunities)
The Research Analyst will perform a crucial role in research, analysis, and content creation for all research products offered by Info-Tech Research Group. These products include Info-Tech Advisor, McLean Report, Vendor Comparison products, Best Practice Methodologies, and Research Reports. The Research Analyst’s success will depend on their strong analytical skills, intellectual ability, and exceptional research and writing skills. Significant business or IT knowledge and/or experience, and the ability to meet crucial deadlines under pressure, are critical.
Major Responsibilities:
- Write an ongoing stream of clear, precise, well-organized and insightful research as well as in-depth research reports or other research products.
- Conduct significant secondary research. Document findings and use information gathered to add depth to research.
- Establish relationships with key product/marketing/sales leaders in key vendors.
- Interact with clients to understand their situation, their questions and provide guidance on key issues/decisions. These include product trade-offs, purchases, technology directions, ROI/TCO, and best practices. Establish relationships with CIOs and IT Managers in client companies.
- Assist with survey design and use survey data to more deeply understand the needs of this market segment. Examine massive amounts of data and distill key insights.
Some of the characteristics of successful hires:
- Ability to analyze problems in depth to achieve penetrating insights. Determine root causes and subtle relationships among data from various sources.
- Exceptional writing and oral communication skills.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience in research, analysis, or technical writing.

| Account Manager – Inside Sales (Future Opportunities)
As an Account Manager, you will market the full line of Info-Tech’s products and services to an established international customer base. Assigned current customers, you will book telephone appointments with IT professionals to uncover needs and offer solutions. The focus of responsibility will include renewal and new user sales, as well as identifying and cross selling our entire product suite. The position will be concerned not only with short-term sales volumes, but also with developing customer relationships to ensure Info-Tech will grow and retain the account over the long term. To be successful, you must be comfortable making approximately 50-60 warm calls per day to generate interest, set appointments, offer solutions, close sales and build strong partnerships.
Major Responsibilities:
- Prospect within assigned accounts to surpass established targets for sales, renewals, penetration and referral business.
- Utilize consultative selling skills to market a full line of innovative products and services via telephone sales activities.
- Establish and build relationships with key IT decision makers to ensure current and future growth opportunities.
- Creative thinking, planning and execution of strategic solutions.
- Manage sales activities to optimize customer contact utilizing strong sales cycle skills.

You will be responsible for generating revenue and working in a team environment to hit monthly sales targets.
